Harry Potter Horcruxes Ranked By Difficulty Of Obtaining Them

Harry Potter Horcruxes Ranked By Difficulty Of Obtaining Them If the Horcruxes were easy to obtain, the seventh film would have been a lot shorter. It's time to rank the Horcruxes by how hard they were to get. As if defeating Lord Voldemort was already hard enough, Harry Potter was left reeling in the Half Blood Prince when he was informed that He Who Must Not Be Named had taken measures to ensure he was, pretty much, immortal. The Dark Lord had, years previously, chosen to create Horcruxes - tiny bits of your soul that are stored inside an object to ensure your survival. Harry then spends the best part of 18 months tracking down the items, getting rid of them one by one before besting Voldemort himself during an epic final showdown at the battle of Hogwarts. We now rank each Horcrux by how difficult it was to obtain and destroy - starting with the easiest to the hardest. 7 Harry Himself Obviously, finding out you’re a Horcrux is a pretty difficult thing to comprehend. And poor Har...

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

Hogsmeade is the only all-wizard village in Britain, and there are many details about it that the movies leave out.

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

Hogsmeade is an important setting in the Harry Potter books, and the Harry Potter films included most of these central plot moments, too. But, the books allow for many more details and smaller moments than the films can include, so, naturally, there are many things about Hogsmeade that didn’t make it on screen. From all of the different shops to scenes between the trio, it’s interesting to see the areas of Hogsmeade that the movies didn’t explore. Plus, with new information from places like Pottermore and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, there are some details about this wizarding village that weren’t even mentioned in the books.

Here are 8 things about Hogsmeade that the Harry Potter movies leave out.

9 HOGSMEADE WAS HOME TO THE HEADQUARTERS OF WIZARD RADIO

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we see how radio is used as an important device for keeping people informed in the wizarding world. Before things got so dark, there was also mention of wizarding radio being used for entertainment purposes. In Hogsmeade, the Wizarding Wireless Network Headquarters made its home. While this isn’t ever mentioned in the books, information from Pottermore and the theme parks mentions this location.

8 THERE WAS A SPORTING GOODS STORE

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

While Diagon Alley had Quality Quidditch Supplies, it wasn’t the only place where witches and wizards could get their sporting supplies. While Harry never actually visited this store in the books, the store likely held Quidditch gear as well as other items for sports and games not mentioned in the books. The store is called Spin Twitches Sporting Needs and the storefront can be seen in Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

7 HOGWARTS STUDENTS COULD GET NEW QUILLS AT SCRIVENSHAFT’S QUILL SHOP

As the only all-wizard village in all of Britain, it makes sense that most basic magic supplies could be found there. The village is also very close to Hogwarts and the students visit there often.

Having a place to buy school supplies when they ran out throughout the year was a must, and Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop was where students would buy quills and parchment if they ran out. Hermione mentions going there at one point in the books. It’s definitely a good thing that Hogwarts students don’t have to worry about going all the way to Diagon Alley during the school year as this wouldn’t be allowed.

6 THERE WAS ALSO A MUSIC SHOP

We do here about Celestina Warbeck in the books, a popular singer and entertainer, but this is the only real mention. In Housemade, however, musicians could get all the necessary items at Dominic Maestro's’ Music Shop.

5 IT WAS LIKE A MINI-DIAGON ALLEY

In many ways, Hogsmeade functions like a mini-Diagon Alley. It has many different shops and pubs for witches and wizards to get what they need. Some of the other random shops in Hogsmeade include Dogweed and Deathcap, a herbology shop. Many witches and wizards lived full-time in the village so it makes sense that there were a variety of stores for people to shop at because Diagon Alley can’t be the only shopping central for wizards in Britain.

4 HARRY, RON, AND HERMIONE VISITED SIRIUS THERE

In the book version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Sirius Black comes to Hogsmeade because he is worried about Harry’s safety after his name is entered into the Triwizard Tournament. Sirius stayed with Buckbeak in the caves in the mountains near Hogsmeade. The trio went to visit him there to talk about what had happened with the Triwizard Tournament, but this scene doesn’t make it into the films.

3 THE TRIO BOUGHT DOBBY SOCKS AT A LOCAL SHOP ONCE

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

There are many moments in the books were Harry, Ron, and Hermione go to Hogsmeade and even more times where students at Hogwarts mention the village.

The really important moments that occur in Hogsmeade are mostly shown in the movies, but there are some smaller moments that are left out. For example, Harry, Ron, and, Hermione go to a shop called Gladrags Wizardwear to buy some socks for Dobby, including one pair that screams when the socks become smelly.

2 HARRY WASN’T THE ONLY STUDENT EVER SUSPENDED FROM VISITING

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

In Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry isn’t allowed to go to Hogsmeade because he doesn’t have the permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Then, in Order of the Phoenix, he is banned from going as a punishment from Professor Umbridge. He wasn’t the only one of the students to ever get his Hogsmeade privileges suspended, however. In Prisoner of Azkaban, Neville Longbottom also briefly loses his permission to go after he loses the list of passwords to Gryffindor Tower that Sirius finds and uses to get in.

1 HARRY AND CHO HAD A DATE AT A TEA SHOP IN HOGSMEADE

9 Things About Hogsmeade The Harry Potter Movies Leave Out

In Order of the Phoenix, Harry and Cho go on a date to Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop. The date goes really bad right away as the pink, garish decorations remind Harry of Umbridge’s office. When Cho starts talking about Cedric on the date, she begins crying. She also gets jealous when Harry brings up Hermione and leaves in a huff. Harry clearly isn’t very capable of dealing with the emotions that come along with dating someone, and the date is a good example of how Harry isn't ready to date and that he and Cho aren’t a great match. The scene doesn’t actually make it into the film, but fans can see the elaborate pink tea shop at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in both Florida and California.

Harry Potter The 10 Most Difficult Potions To Make

Harry Potter The 10 Most Difficult Potions To Make Even the most skilled alchemists would struggle concocting these 10 potions from Harry Potter. The art of making potions is often depicted as one of the more difficult tasks at Hogwarts. Not dissimilar to cooking, one wrong ingredient or measurement can ruin the entire dish. Although, making potions has more life-or-death stakes than cooking dinner for yourself. Not only is potion-making difficult because of its complicated directions, but also due to the strict and severe potions master, Severus Snape. We're taking a look at ten of the most difficult potions in the series. 10 Draught of Living Death The Draught of Living Death potion may sound familiar to you if you watched the Harry Potter films and read the first book in the novel, referenced in the very first interaction between Snape and Harry. It's a potion that is said to put the drinker into a deep sleep. We know it is difficult because it is only referenced in the Adva...

Harry Potter Dumbledore’s 10 Worst Lies Ranked

Harry Potter Dumbledore’s 10 Worst Lies Ranked Dumbledore may be a beloved Harry Potter character, but he certainly had a complicated relationship with telling the truth. During the beginning of the Harry Potter trilogy, Dumbledore was a favorite character for many as he seemed like a good mentor who could be trusted. However, as the books went on, it was revealed that Dumbledore was more complex than that and that he had many flaws. Dumbledore wasn’t just a purely good and helpful mentor, but he was actually rather manipulative with a dark past. Instead of just guiding Harry, he also lied to him, and other people, many times. Here are Dumbledore’s worst lies ranked leading up to the worst. 10 Lying About What He Saw In The Mirror Of Erised Some of Dumbledore’s lies were rather small and not as harmful, but his overall pattern of omitting the truth and not revealing things shows that he is overall manipulative. He starts telling untruths or half-truths to Harry early on such as when he...

Harry Potter 10 Memes That Would Definitely Confuse Muggles

Harry Potter 10 Memes That Would Definitely Confuse Muggles There's a lot that muggles can't possibly understand in Harry Potter's wizarding world. These memes point out some of the things that confuse muggles. Harry Potter took the world by storm, but there are still many people who are yet to watch or read the franchise. Every fan knows that muggles have no knowledge of the Wizarding World and are totally oblivious, but they are able to have magical children, like Hermione's parents. So, for those without magic, the Wizarding World is a wee bit confusing. People who have not experienced Harry Potter, are also muggles in a way, as they are yet to experience, and are unaware of the magic that awaits them. These memes are a hilarious nod to this obliviousness. 10 The Hogwarts Grading System Anyone who isn't aware of the Hogwarts grading system would be confused by this text post. This includes parents who are pr0bably seeing their child's report card for the firs...
