Harry Potter Horcruxes Ranked By Difficulty Of Obtaining Them

Harry Potter Horcruxes Ranked By Difficulty Of Obtaining Them If the Horcruxes were easy to obtain, the seventh film would have been a lot shorter. It's time to rank the Horcruxes by how hard they were to get. As if defeating Lord Voldemort was already hard enough, Harry Potter was left reeling in the Half Blood Prince when he was informed that He Who Must Not Be Named had taken measures to ensure he was, pretty much, immortal. The Dark Lord had, years previously, chosen to create Horcruxes - tiny bits of your soul that are stored inside an object to ensure your survival. Harry then spends the best part of 18 months tracking down the items, getting rid of them one by one before besting Voldemort himself during an epic final showdown at the battle of Hogwarts. We now rank each Horcrux by how difficult it was to obtain and destroy - starting with the easiest to the hardest. 7 Harry Himself Obviously, finding out you’re a Horcrux is a pretty difficult thing to comprehend. And poor Har...

10 Character Inconsistencies In Harry Potter RELATED Harry Potter 10 Slytherin Tattoos Only Devoted Fans Will Understand

The Harry Potter world and the film adaptations illustrate the mastery of JK Rowling's writing. But even Harry Potter has character inconsistencies.

Harry Potter is both a book and film series every YA storyline hopes to be. With seven novels and eight films, the world-building and incredible detail entranced fans the world over. Harry Potter should get all the credit in the universe for the amazing success it achieved.

But like anything, Harry Potter isn't perfect, though it certainly has our respect for making fewer mistakes than it could have over such a long story. While it certainly has respect, this hasn't stopped fans from picking over the story to find any missing details or oversights in the narrative. Here are just a few character inconsistencies fans have noticed.

10 Moaning Myrtle

Moaning Myrtle, the young student, was murdered by Tom Riddle and the Slytherin Basilisk only to spend eternity haunting the girl's toilet in Hogwarts Castle. She can move through the pipes (as fans see when she visits the prefects' bathroom in Goblet of Fire) but it's still a rough existence.

The question remains, however, if Myrtle can see Harry, Ron, and Hermione brewing Polyjuice potion in the bathroom, why didn't she see Ginny Weasley, under the influence of Riddle's diary, opening the sink in the bathroom to enter the Chamber of Secrets?

9 Sirius Black

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius lets everyone know that Severus Snape and Sirius' own hated cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, hung out at school together. However, when examining the timeline, Snape would not have started attending Hogwarts (with Sirius) until about nine years later.

It's a small thing and a very minimal detail, but one still has to wonder how Sirius, of all people, could forget who he was at school with.

8 Prefects

There are quite a few prefects across the Harry Potter series, from Percy Weasley in book one to Ron and Hermione in book five. Yet, there are a lot of discrepancies.

In book two, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Percy is allowed, as a prefect, to take house points from his own brother, Ron. However, in the Order of the Phoenix, when students in Harry's year are made prefects, Ernie Macmillan states that they are not allowed to deduct points from other students.

7 Albus Severus

10 Character Inconsistencies In Harry Potter RELATED Harry Potter 10 Slytherin Tattoos Only Devoted Fans Will Understand

Albus Severus learns quite a lot between his appearance in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, even though the same scene is depicted in both.

In the Cursed Child, Albus Severus knows quite a bit more about Slytherin than he seems to in the epilogue. One has to wonder where or why he scrounged up the details that make him so nervous in a house full of Gryffindors.

6 Voldemort

In the Harry Potter films and novels, Voldemort believes in Bellatrix as one of his greatest lieutenants but doesn't show her affection, in fact, he seems incapable of showing real affection to anyone (look at how he hugs Draco in the Deathly Hallows film).

And yet, in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it is revealed that he fathered a child, a daughter with Bellatrix, at some point in the series. One has to wonder how that actually went down between the pair.

5 Lupin

10 Character Inconsistencies In Harry Potter RELATED Harry Potter 10 Slytherin Tattoos Only Devoted Fans Will Understand

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Albus Dumbledore is depicted in a much harsher light than in previous books. And he is not the only one. Lupin is actually shown in the book to abandon Tonks and his unborn child to try and go with Harry on his Horcrux hunt. This from a man who was so loyal to his friends (namely James and Sirius) that he was willing to commit murder for them (he wanted to kill Peter Pettigrew in Prisoner of Azkaban).

It certainly seems out of character for him and, unlike Dumbledore, fans are never given enough backstory to back up his actions.

4 Fred And George

Fred and George are observant enough to pick out Albus Dumbledore on the Marauders Map and point him out to Harry (he's pacing in his office, which he apparently does a lot). However, it is strange that, even though Lupin eventually sees Peter Pettigrew on the map, Fred and George never did.

Their younger brother has been at Hogwarts with them for three years and for some reason the twins never spied on him or noticed someone named "Peter Pettigrew" following him around -- even in his dormitory?

3 Harry

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Thestrals are introduced as the previously invisible animals who pull the Hogwarts carriages. Why can Harry suddenly see Thestrals? Well, because he has seen someone die (namely Cedric, during the Triwizard Tournament).

Thestrals are only visible to people who have seen death. And yet, Harry was in the room when his mother, Lily, was murdered by Voldemort. He saw death as a baby but apparently couldn't see Thestrals until he was 15.

2 Newt Scamander

Newt Scamander is mentioned long before the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films were released. He is, of course, the author of the classic magical textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

In the author's biography in the book, it is mentioned that Newt is a Hogwarts graduate. Yet, when we meet Newt on screen in the Fantastic Beasts movies, it is mentioned that he was expelled from Hogwarts. That's quite a difference.

1 Lily Evans Potter

10 Character Inconsistencies In Harry Potter RELATED Harry Potter 10 Slytherin Tattoos Only Devoted Fans Will Understand

Whether it's in the books or in the films, everyone likes to mention how Harry has his mother's eyes. For those who knew his parents, it is his eyes, not his scar, that confirms his identity.

Yet, in the films, it is very clear that Harry and his mother have very different eyes. Where Harry's eyes are blue on-screen his mother, as a child, has brown eyes. Neither of them has green eyes, as mentioned in the book, but in the movies, they can't even match as brown or blue. It's certainly offputting and many people have mentioned this discrepancy.

Harry Potter 10 Memes That Would Definitely Confuse Muggles There's a lot that muggles can't possibly understand in Harry Potter's wizarding world. These memes point out some of the things that confuse muggles. Harry Potter took the world by storm, but there are still many people who are yet to watch or read the franchise. Every fan knows that muggles have no knowledge of the Wizarding World and are totally oblivious, but they are able to have magical children, like Hermione's parents. So, for those without magic, the Wizarding World is a wee bit confusing. People who have not experienced Harry Potter, are also muggles in a way, as they are yet to experience, and are unaware of the magic that awaits them. These memes are a hilarious nod to this obliviousness. 10 The Hogwarts Grading System Anyone who isn't aware of the Hogwarts grading system would be confused by this text post. This includes parents who are pr0bably seeing their child's report card for the firs...

Harry Potter 10 Confirmed Hogwarts Houses Of Secondary Characters That Werent Given In The Books (Including Quirrell)

Harry Potter 10 Confirmed Hogwarts Houses Of Secondary Characters That Werent Given In The Books (Including Quirrell) The Hogwarts Houses of many of the Harry Potter characters are well known - but what about the secondary characters? In the two decades since the first Harry Potter novel was released, author JK Rowling created an expansive world filled with interesting characters and situations. There was also a wide variety of locations, which included Diagon Alley, Gringotts Bank and, of course, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Students of Hogwarts, such as Harry, are sorted into one of four Houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Despite all the years that the Wizarding World has existed in fans' imaginations, there are still some characters' Hogwarts Houses that are not common knowledge. Here are ten confirmed Sortings of secondary characters in the novels. 10 Quirinus Quirrell: Ravenclaw Played by Ian Hart in the first film, Quirrell was Harry...

Harry Potter Dumbledores Army Members Ranked By Bravery

Harry Potter Dumbledores Army Members Ranked By Bravery Dumbeldore's Army includes some of the most courageous Hogwarts students - but who is the bravest of them all? The members of Dumbledore's Army are, almost by definition, some of the bravest students at Hogwarts. These are the students willing to risk breaking the rules to stand up to Umbridge - and given her predilection for literally torturing students as punishment, that's no small matter! These are the students willing to fight, and willing to defy the rules to prepare for war against Voldemort. While they are all brave, though, some are certainly a little more courageous than others. It's clear from the start that while many DA members are there because they expect to do battle with the Death Eaters, others are just a bit curious, or even more concerned about a good grade than anything! 10 Marietta Edgecombe Marietta Edgecombe is one of the many characters that didn't make it from the Harry Potter books to...
